In 1979, Tom Mounce purchased a small printing company from the Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami Beach, Florida. With knowledge of the printing business, Mounce, along with two partners, spent the next few years developing Sun Press and in 1982, Mounce went solo when he launched Blue Ocean Press in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Little did he know that within 26 years, his startup would transform into a 40-person operation in a 30,000 square foot facility with endless opportunity.
Throughout the years, Mr. Mounce made one vision clear; he would put his customers’ wants and needs first to evolve his business into a one-stop shop for any products his customers needed with their logo. Over the years, his business grew considerably as he has adapted to his clients’ needs by adding new machinery, equipment and services. From printing and pens to online ordering systems, Mr. Mounce has created a one-stop shop, business/marketing solutions company. Mr. Mounce has donated tens of thousands of dollars to local charities, and has also made something else priority… the environment. He recognized that by providing superior products, his production would take a toll on the environment. Mr. Mounce has spared no expense implementing eco friendly practices into every aspect of BOP’s production. Mounce has been “Green by Choice” since the inception of Blue Ocean Press, a slogan and logo he created to emphasize the importance of being proactive in reducing environmental stress internally and externally.
